• Counts are records, not verified people — roughly 6.7 % share a name with another record, so totals are an upper bound.
• Subjects are classifications of published work, not skills anyone declared. Locations are the institution’s, not the person’s.
• There is no time dimension: nothing here describes trends, growth or how recent a researcher’s work is.
• Coverage reflects what OpenAlex indexes and what we collected — not a country’s research capacity.
